14 Nov TU Go News for O2 Customers
O2 are closing their TU GO service on the 30th of November 2017. With the launch O2’s Wifi and 4G Calling on many current and new devices, it now means that you can make and receive calls whenever connected to wifi without the use of an additional app.
What you need to know
As part of the TU Go service, a user’s messages and call records are stored in the TU Go app and can be accessed at any time. There may be a small number of users who use TU Go to store sentimental or important messages.
Once TU Go has closed, or the user has moved to Wifi and 4G Calling, there’s no way to subsequently access any of that information – it will be deleted. Please make sure you save anything sentimental.
Wifi and 4G Calling devices
The following phones will allow you to make a call wherever they have a wifi signal using Wifi Calling without the need for an additional app:
iPhone 8, 7, 6S, 6, and SE (including Plus models)
Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+, S7, S7 edge and Note 8*
Sony XZ Premium, XZ1 and XZ1 Compact*
*Android devices must be using the O2 firmware to work with Wifi Calling.
O2 are continuing to extend the handsets that we offer with Wifi Calling capabilities and will be sharing more information on this soon.
Please also remember that Wifi & 4G Calling is not compatible with O2 Just Call Me, Mobex and Mobile Recording from O2.
